Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, serving a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any ocular abnormalities
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and dry eye syndrome
- Prescribe and fit contact lenses, eyeglasses, and other vision aids
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems (Epic)
- Adhere to all relevant legal, ethical, and professional guidelines, including HIPAA regulations
Experience:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles and practices
- Proficiency in medical coding and terminology related to optometry
- Excellent clinical skills with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions
- Experience using electronic medical record systems (Epic) preferred
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively educate and communicate with patients
- Strong sales skills to recommend appropriate eyewear options to patients
